Eastern Blooms

This page, much like my Happy Everything page, was made at Rachel's scrapbook club and was based on another of my favorite cards that we made at one of her stamp a stacks with a stamp set that I bought from her at a rummage sale.

When Jeremy and I were planning our wedding we decided not to have separate bachelor/bachelorette parties and instead had a stag & doe party with all our friends. Here we are mini golfing again, and also bowling.

You're Invited

For yet another page made at Rachel's (I apparently wouldn't have any pages if I didn't make them at her house), I used pictures from when we made my wedding invitations. If you have never done any stamping by committee, I definitely recommend it for any big project that you have to complete because it makes it so much easier, and it's a lot more fun!

Instead of adding another picture on the right hand page, I actually glued down one of the invitations so it would always be preserved.

Supplies
Paper: Summer Sun (r), Pumpkin Pie, Pink Passion (r)

Summer Fun

Jeremy and I love to mini golf and during the nice weather months we have a lot of mini golf outings with our other friends. Now, Springfield doesn't have the nicest mini golf courses but we usually have a good time when we go to Knight's Action Park, which is where these pictures were taken. I made this scrapbook page at Rachel's and I tweaked this page a bit for a previous post using other pictures from that day.

This scrapbook page features colors from the retired DSP Junior Varsity. Junior Varsity is one of my all time favorite DSPs and I thought the colors went well with this layout. I may not be the best at thinking of layouts but I do think that I do a nice job with color combinations. Sometimes though, if a color combo isn't coming to me, I'll use a DSP to inspire my color choices, even if we aren't using DSP on the page. Stampin' UP! does a great job creating their DSPs and using their color combinations makes less work for me and why recreate the wheel ;)

Supplies
Paper: Rose Red, So Saffron, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: snail adhesive, 1/4" grosgrain ribbon - bashful blue, buttons (r)

Big Kidz

This is yet another page that was done at Rachel's scrapbook club. For Memorial Day a few years ago, we had Lauren, Andrew, and Derek over. Lauren bought a bunch of bubbles and bubble related paraphernalia and we went out to our backyard and blew bubbles like a bunch of kids. It's a little hard to tell on the page from the picture, but I used a bunch of circles layered on each other and scattered on the page to represent bubbles.

AGM - Puerto Rico

Every year, my husband's company has their annual meeting in some awesome location (this year it's going to be in Hawaii -- I only wish I could go :() and the first year he worked there he got to go to Puerto Rico. This is a scrapbook page that I made at Rachel's scrapbook club for that trip. I loved the mini pictures at the bottom and instead of using 12 different pictures, I took 4 pictures and cut them into smaller pieces to have a broken puzzle effect.

Happy Everything

Once upon a time at Rachel's house for a stamp a stack we made an awesome anniversary/wedding/engagement card and it is probably my favorite card that we have EVER made and I wanted to base my scrapbook page (made at Rachel's scrapbook club) on that card. I used the same stamp set that we used to make that card and a similar color palette, even though I did end up using more colors. I loved that card/stamp set so much that when Rachel had a rubber rummage sale, I actually bought it :)

My First Scrapbook Page

If my memory serves correctly, and it probably doesn't given that I have pregnancy brain, this is the first scrapbook page that I ever made at Rachel's scrapbook club. I had made two scrapbooks when I was in high school -- one was even for my Shakespeare class project, so this isn't my first ever scrapbooking project but it was the page that got me back into scrapbooking.

Normally I list the supplies that I used on each page but some of these pages that I'm going to be posting were made a long time ago and I honestly don't remember the name of everything (especially since a lot of this stuff is retired). Plus, I might be a little lazy and not bother to look it up because you all know how to use google just as well as I do ;) I am sorry for any errors that my supply list may have and if there's something I'm not sure about, I will italicize it.

Supplies
Stamps: Game Night (r)
Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black
Accessories: snail adhesive, go go boots sizzlets die, 3/16" corner punch, in the cards wheel (r)

Happy Valentine's

For this page, I used my last post, "Our First Christmas" as inspiration. I stamped the background with shimmer paint on the left page but used real red on the right page to make the background stand out a little more. I also mounted the pictures in a different layout so it wouldn't look quite so similar to the Christmas page.

I hope everyone has a LOVEly day :)

Supplies

Stamps: Love You Much (r)
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: 2 way glue, snail adhesive, fleurettes, timeless type alphabet junior sizzlets die, frost white shimmer paint

Our First Christmas

In anticipation of our new addition, I am going to be posting some scrapbook pages that were made a while ago. I know it may seem strange to see a Christmas page in the middle of February or Halloween in March/April but I assure you there is some method to the madness :) Plus, I want to make sure that there are still some posts, even if I'm not making new pages :)
The vast majority of these pages were made at Rachel's scrapbook club -- or they were CASED from her blog. This particular page was made at her house for scrapbook club.

For this page, we used the shimmer paint to stamp the background. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but it makes a really pretty shimmery effect without overwhelming the page.

Supplies

Paper: Basic Gray, Taken with Teal (r), Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps: Delightful Decorations
Ink: Taken with Teal (r), Real Red
Accessories: SU dimensionals, snail adhesive, shimmer paint, ornament punch, timeless type alphabet die

Bridal Open House

In addition to my bridal shower, my mother threw Jeremy and I an open house in EC so that our friends from home could meet Jeremy. Just like with my bridal shower pictures, I'm finally getting around to scrapbooking those pictures but luckily there were only one layouts worth of pictures :)

My intention for this layout was to recreate one that I had found online but I actually ended up NOT using that layout and created this one all on my own. I'm still trying to decide if that's a good thing or not ;)

Supplies
Paper: Sweet Always DSP (r), Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: snail adhesive, 2-way glue, tasteful trim bigz die, timeless type alphabet junior sizzlits die

This is a page that I made for the last of my bridal shower pictures. Supplies

Paper: Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla
Accessories: SU dimensionals, snail adhesive, boho blossom punch, fancy flower punch, big shot, flower brads - subtles, flower brads - brights

Derek and Andrew's Birthday

Two years ago we celebrated Derek and Andrew's birthdays together and for that occasion I made a cat cake with a "mouse." My friends and I are all nutty cat people and Jeremy, Derek, and Andrew are all computer programmers so I thought they would enjoy the humor. I made this scrapbook page a couple of weeks ago using the Big Top Birthday DSP which is great for scrapbooking birthdays for all ages. The colors are so bright and bold and go pretty good with my bright green kitchen :)

This layout is pretty simple but sometimes I think that simpler can be nice. For some reason I had a hard time taking a picture of this layout so some of the elements are hard to see. I did stamp the pennant "happy birthday to you" from the Patterned Party stamp set in the top right hand corner of the first page and on the second page I made a pennant banner using the Petite Pennants Builder punch. I "strung" the pennants on white bakers twine and it became my favorite element on the page.

Supplies
Stamps: Patterned Party
Paper: Big Top Birthday DSP, Real Red, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink: Whisper White Craft
Accessories: SU dimensionals, snail adhesive, crystal effects (to glue down the buttons), whisper white bakers twine, tasteful trim bigz die, perfect polka dots embossing folder, petite pennants builder punch, designer buttons - playground (r), designer buttons - neutrals collection

Super Scrapping

Jeremy and I are huge football fans and I have always wanted to throw an annual superbowl party. We started the tradition of superbowl parties back in 2010 for Superbowl XLIV which featured the Colts and Saints. This page was made for that event and I actually started it over a year ago. I wanted to make a page for each of the teams, featuring their colors. Jeremy really liked the Colts page but I preferred the Saints page better -- the shimmery gold against the black page just looks so cool.

Supplies
Paper: Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Brushed Gold

Bridal Shower

This scrapbook layout, like the card in my last post, was also inspired from all i create. The original layout, found here, was only one page so I tweaked it a little to turn it into a 2 page layout because for some reason, all my pages have to be two pages ;)

Making this layout, I really wanted to use the Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper but had a hard time picking the colors to use because this particular DSP uses 11, yes 11! different colors. I originally wanted to use Not Quite Navy as the background but thought it might be a little to dark so I decided to use River Rock instead. In my experience, I have noticed that River Rock doesn't seem to be used a lot and I was nervous to put it as the background but I think with everything that's going on with the DSP and the pictures, it really compliments the page well.

I originally made this layout first with no pictures in mind and then decided to add pictures from my bridal shower (which was in August of 2009 -- nothing like being on top of your scrapbooking, huh?). Again, I was worried that all the colors in the pictures would clash with the DSP but I think once everything was matted and placed on the page, it turned out pretty cute, and definitely not too busy. A little busy perhaps, but not TOO busy ;)

When I was making this page I made a huge mistake and had to do a quick fix -- imaginary gold star if you can guess what I screwed up!

Supplies
Paper: Paisley Petals DSP, River Rock, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: SU dimensionals, crystal effects (to glue down the button), snail adhesive, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, 2 3/8 scallop punch, decorative label punch, designer buttons - neutrals collection

Beau Chateau Congrats

One of my favorite blogs that I go to for inspiration is all i create by fellow Stampin' UP! demonstrator Ashley Marostica. I've never met her, but I surf her blog all the time for inspiration -- usually for scrapbook layouts because I really like her layouts. While I was searching for some layouts I came across this card that she made and it was so cute that I had to make one myself, although I tweaked my card just a tad for the supplies that I have. When I was making this card I was really excited to find that I had the stamp set that was originally used because it is just perfect for this card.

Like with the Bold Blossom card I posted a little while back, I have two variations of this card. The first card I kept very simple and just used the congratulations banner at the bottom instead of mounting it in the middle. For my second card, I did try to keep it closer to the original but I only have white bakers twine so I left it off as it clashed horribly with the very vanilla cardstock that I used.

Supplies
Stamps: Something to Celebrate (h,r)
Paper: Beau Chateau DSP, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Snail adhesive, Stampin' UP! dimensionals, 1 3/8 circle punch, decorative label punch, perfect polka dots textured impressions embossing folder die
