Christmas in July, take 2

Here is another card that we made yesterday at my Christmas in July Stamp a Stack. I love glitter and thought that Santa needed a little bling:) I was a little worried that my mom's house would be covered in glitter by the time we were done but the sticky pages that I used for Santa's hat holds the glitter so well so there was very little mess. One of the girls mentioned that she didn't like glitter but then after using the sticky pages wondered what other colors of glitter were available to decorate Santa's hat even more. I think I may use this idea myself for my Christmas cards :D

Supplies: Holiday Hoopla, Occasional Quotes (hostess); Top Note Die; Sticky Pages; Fine Galaxy Stampin Glitter; 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Real Red, Very Vanilla card stock; Real Red ink

Christmas in July

Earlier today I held a Christmas in July Stamp a Stack at my mom's house. We had six people here and had a FABULOUS time! This is one of the three cards that we made. The inspiration for this card came from a sample in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog (IBC), page 154. They took Four the Holidays and, using my new favorite tool the stampamajig, turned the one line stamp into two. The ornament in the top left corner is three punches glued together to give the card a three dimensional feel. I also used the new Jolly Holiday DSP and absolutely LOVE the unique twist on traditional Christmas red and green by using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive.

Now if I could only figure out how we can have next year's Christmas in July on a weekday so we can all take off work;)

Supplies: Delightful Decorations, Four the Holidays; ornament punch, 3/4" punch; Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla card stock; Jolly Holiday DSP; Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive ink

Joy to the Fishes in the Deep Blue Sea

Back in May I had a stamping get together at my house for some of my fave stamping friends. For their treat, I made a cupcake using my newly acquired crimper. I then went on a crimping spree and this card was born. Enjoy:)

Supplies: Crimper; Ornament Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch; Silver Smooch Spritz; Crumb Cake card stock, Pink Passion card stock, Tempting Turquoise card stock

Concord Crush Together Forever

Two weeks ago, our friends Jacob and Karen got married at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis. It was a beautiful ceremony and Jeremy and I were very honored to be a part of celebrating their special day with them.

I based their wedding card on their invitation/save the date and a card that I made for our Spring Into Stamping shoebox swap. The wedding colors were differing shades of purples and the invitation had a swirly image that is very similar to Stampin' UP!'s Baroque Motif.

I brayered the white Bridal Specialty DSP with Concord Crush ink to create a customized DSP. I love that you can create your own papers and am so glad that SU is continuing to give us different specialty papers. I didn't realize that I didn't yet have my Concord Crush ink pad until after I already had the pieces cut so I used a marker to ink up the brayer and then "huffed" on it. It was a little time consuming but our friends are definitely worth it!
